Ramming the glass window again, Bloodthirst in wolf form, smashed through; falling a story before turning into a bat. Smoke spewed out from the burning apartment, allowing the occupants to breathe a little easier. Nano-man considered his options for helping the family to escape. Getting them to follow he went into the corridor and corroded a hole in the floor. The apartment below was in darkness and thankfully not on fire. On top of the apartment block Cryogen fired a spray of ice shards at Blue Bolt. Fizzing straight through him he feigned that he had been hurt. Looking to follow Hephaestus he then zoomed through the ice encased roof access door and caught him up. As he arrived a streamed of smoke rolled out of a vent. Darting towards the Kyle Harrison, who was still being carried, the gas disappeared up his nose. Harrison immediately began to gag, convulsing at the sudden lack of oxygen. Acting with speed and great precision Blue Bolt teleported Harrison from around the gaseous Sylph into Liberty Park with himself. Meanwhile, back at the warehouse, Magni had satisfied himself that the Star Squad had the super villains in sufficient incarceration. Heading for Liberty Park he hoped to find his team mates. The badly damaged building with smoke billowing out of it was a clue to their whereabouts. As he hovered above the park the Blue Bolt appeared below. Descending he saw the electrical being had saved a man who was breathing heavily. Crossing to the damaged building he noticed that the car park entrances were blocked by two vans without drivers. He moved in to investigate. The rubble like form, Granite, got to his feet. Jumping forward he smashed through the wall and disappeared from sight. Blaise heard a further crunch as he pursued. Beyond the hole in the wall was the lobby. The nearest elevator doors were crumpled open, an empty shaft beyond. Tossing a flash-bang grenade he heard a low cry as it detonated at the bottom of the shaft. He then called the lift.
As the fire approached, the man had begun to lower his wife down through the hole. Nano-man jumped down too. Despite his encouraging words neither of the frightened children would not jump into his arms.
Bloodthirst was waiting to see if the family would following his exit when he noticed a fiery shape fly overhead. Seeing that the family were in good hands he followed the flame being. It appeared to be circling the building from above. Unable to catch up quickly he stealthily reduced the distance between them.
As Magni approached one of the vans Pyre, man of fire, shot to the ground firing a blast of flame. Dodging to one side, the flame scorched the vehicle behind Magni. Returning fire, by calling down the lighting from the gods, the bolt didn't appear to shake the man. Inside, as the lift arrived at Blaise's floor a nasty scraping sound brought it to a halt as its underside met the crumpled doors. Using his power boots he instead dropped to the bottom of the shaft. Landing just below the first doors, he could see they had been broken open too. Beyond was a basement car-park. Stumbling, arms flailing before him, Granite made his way slowly forward. Around him Blaise noticed that everything had the sparkle of being frozen. Firing his gauntlet the stream of fire hit the blinded creature, but it did not appear to hurt the brute. With his wife safely in the apartment below, the man then passed down the first of his children. Not wanting to be left alone, the second child jump down into Nano-man's waiting arms. Following Pyre, Bloodthirst amplified his echo-location into a powerful pulse. Magni and Pyre took the full brunt of the attack deafening them both. This didn't stop them blasting each other; Magni appearing to come off slightly worse. Now safe in the apartment below Nano-man met the inhabitant. A lady in her nightie appeared from a bedroom. Gathering his growing group he asked them him to follow him to the internal stairs and cleared the way ahead. Satisfied all was safe he turned to beckon them on. As he did the icy figure of Cryogen came from behind the family towards Nano-man. Firing a piercing cone of ice shards the lady was knocked to the ground unconscious. With the aim of getting Harrison to safety Blue Bolt teleported again. Appearing in the Freedom Hall control room he found Daedelus. Explaining the situation he left Harrison in the scientist's custody. As Blaise got ready to fire another well aimed blast of flame into Granite, the hulk turned blinking a stare upon the ex-marine. Charging, he dealt a harsh blow sending Blaise flying back into the lift shaft wall and knocking him unconscious. Fire versus a God and a bat, ice versus nano-machines and earth has grounded the marines. It can only get better.
