Hia, sounds good mate.

Having finally got through everything in the box at the weekend, the core box is definitely aimed at a maximum of 3 players and 1 GM, but if we have two boxes then I reckon we should have enough cards and the like for 7, maybe 8 players.

However, in order to reduce clutter- I'm planning on using one of the larger fan-made character sheets for players that have already sprung onto the net- this should reduce the need for some of the more basic cards and allow us to take more players. To be honest, having read through it all, the dice pools are by far the most interesting bit- most of the rest of it is definitely anti-piracy stuff which can just as (or more) easily be accomodated on a piece of paper- if nothing else it stops you having to get hundreds of bits of cards and puzzle fit pieces out every session!

I'm planning on getting to the pub for 6- 6:30- I'll see you there!

Have been phenomenally busy and haven't looked at the site in a week. My core set is in the post and I should have it at the beginning of next week. That will give enough stuff for another 3-4 players if you can cope with a few more players, including me. Let me know and I will come prepared. Have also got the Adventurers Kit on preorder, which hopefully will get before Xmas.

Sounds good to me. Have been out of it for a while, so a bit of time spent on familiarisation will be good. Love the setting, glad to hear its between 1e and 2e.

Cheers

Tony

I would say that on Wednesday we create characters and have a look at the rules etc, and then start if we have time, but not get worried about it- we can always start the week after!

So are we planning to make characters next week or use pregen ones? I think it'd be cool to try out the creation rules if there is time?

Like the sounds of that Have never used dice pools before so will be interesting to see how it works out. The way you can adjust them on the fly as part of the narrative sounds interesting for sure

Ok, thanks for the input. I must admit I never played WFRP 2e either, so I guess I'm not going to be worried about them 'ruining the game'. However, as an (ex)long time warhammer 40k/fantasy player I'm pleased to hear they are keeping the fluff of the world!

Re:WFRP3 2 Years, 2 Months ago Current XP: 4
to be honest, after a first quick skim, my feelings are that it's mainly an anti-piracy attempt.

The only different thing is the dice pools- the rest of the stuff is basically the skills/talents from v2 revamped a little and in card form. Not having played it yet, we'll have to see how intuitive the dice pools are, but most people seem to quite like them...

I'm also heavily in favour of the setting, which is now between 1e and 2e...

Well when I first heard about it and read the first press release I was like, dear god no... but constantly following it and the developer diaries/playtests has convinced me to give it a go, after all I like 4th edition dnd, so i'm not against actions and cards and things if it really does make things better. We shall see, I guess I just hope that the character creation still creates as varied characters as it used to.

Back on topic slightly...

Has anyone here tried WFRP3 yet? I've been reading about it, and there certainly seems to be a lot of contention! Obviously I'm happy to give it a go (otherwise I wouldn't have posted), but just interested if anyone here can give a view.
