Sexism was the default in 1918 so, yes, it's sexist. (So is colour-coding for gender - at least as long as gender is identified with sex - but that's another argument.) I just find it interesting how arbitrary these things are, and how quickly traditions change.

"Decided" means something like "bold", here, I think. Possibly because pink is a shade of red? I wonder if the changing colours of military uniforms (Redcoats: out Navy Blue: in) had an effect? Toy shops have a Pink Aisle and a Khaki Aisle nowadays, which suggests something.

(Yes, I'm bored at work.)

Hey, no confusing by bringing in facts! Also, "decided and strong" == boy and "delicate and dainty" == girl sounds a bit sexist to me. Maybe not so much by 1918 standards, but still. Never really got why blue (especially light blue) is considered masculine anyway. And since when can a colour be "decided"?

Excuse me?! Sickly? Infirm?

I get a feeling Gudrun won't be around next time Rutger gets on the wrong side of drunken nobles/men with funny scars...

(literally, because I won't be there this session, haha )

Pink is very masculine:

"There has been a great diversity of opinion on the subject, but the generally accepted rule is pink for the boy and blue for the girl. The reason is that pink being a more decided and stronger color is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl." - Ladies Home Journal, 1918

Ha, you don't fool me, Joe - your mocking P.S oozes jealousy. We both know pink dice are where it's at. Yeah baby.

Just to be clear, I'd like to play to tonight but won't hold it against the sickly and infirm if we postpone.

I don't mind either way. I've got enough work, so I won't be bored, but I'd be OK for tonight if you want to play.

Joe

P.S. pink dice? Did you steal them from your little sister?

Well I'm hale and hearty AND I finally have some dice (pink dice at that!) so I'm OK for tonight. But if people would rather wait until everyone's well, that's cool.

cheers

I can make it, but I'm just recovering from a bug myself so I wouldn't be disappointed if we didn't play tonight.

Unfortunately I've succumbed to the flu that seems to be doing the rounds, so I won't be coming this week :<

Sorry Adam - I've just got back from Orc's Nest. I've got one set of dice, anyway.

I'll be there with bells on.

Sam - if you're swinging by Orc's nest, I wouldn't mind a set of those dice too...

cheers

I need to go to my self-storage this weekend anyway, so if you can put up with me borrowing some dice again, I should have mine back by next Tuesday. However, if you happen to pass Orc's Nest anyway, I surely wouldn't mind if you got a set of simple dice (e.g. this one orcsnest.com/blurber.asp?Title=Set%20of%20Polyhedral%20Dice). It's not that you could ever have enough dice, is it?

I'll be there, anyway.

Would you like me to get some dice for you? I'm 15 minutes away from Orc's Nest and I haven't gone for my lunchtime walk yet, so it wouldn't be any trouble. Just let me know what you want.

We're on tonight, I suppose? I still haven't completed the perilous and strenuous quest of getting new dice, by the way.
