To say it was a bumpy ride to San Diego would be putting it mildly. I never saw a bunch of tough guys looking so pale, except for NCIS guy - he just takes it all in his stride. Anyway, we survived the storm to land on the West Coast in the early hours. The SD Field Office even rolled out their 2IC to meet us. Their SWAT boys had a perimiter established and a CP at the Doubletree Hotel. Nice to be a star - anyone, whose anyone in local law enforcement seemed to be there to meet us. I guess bad news travels fast.
The boat is occupied - let's hope it's Locke - he's got access to a shotgun and maybe a sidearm too according to the retired CPO who gave him up. Squirrelly is how he described him - enough to butcher and dice 9 people? Our profiler and NCIS guy aren't too sure. They did some background checking with the CPO's son and Locke's wife. No sign of any breakdown before Nov 16. Does a guy just jump in his car, go AWOL from his Unit, travel to Ohio and murder people he never met?
This one is giving us all vibes of the very bad kind. Anyway, the teams are ready and the advance is about to disarm the boat's external alarm. I am hoping for a soft takedown but we're prepared for all eventualities.
Showtime...
