Agent Frost’s scrawled notes rammed into the back pocket of his jeans – somewhere in space and time…
I think it's still Saturday wherever we are. We're down the rabbit hole with Alice. Red door, green door. Well we didn't have a clue where the Red door might lead but the Sommelier who had Alice's bottle along with Callaghan and Kruger's bottles told us the Green door led to the other side - where the party's at, so naturally that's where we went.
Okay, maybe I am getting ahead of myself. After the hound attacked and we found some peace we continued searching the Night Floors (that's what that guy Roark called them). We came across a bunch more play and the net result is that everyone seems to be plotting against everyone else to take the throne of this Carcosa place. Roark took us to what he called the Labyrinth - a place full of bottles with people's names on them. We walked through that place for hours - kind of like exploring a huge, never ending wine cellar, until we met the Sommelier. He was an old wizened guy who looked like he had seen better days - Alice regained her memory, although it didn't seem to make her very happy - turns out Alice is her code name and as previously anticipated, she is an Agent for Homeland Security - do they need code names?? Anyway, she got Callaghan's bottle, Martikian got Kruger's bottle and I got the silver corkscrew that opens them.
Back to the door then. We opened it and then the next thing I know I am caught in a web halfway up a tree in an alien (and I do mean alien) jungle, ready to be fed to baby spiders. I shot mother spider but she still released her voracious spawn on me. Things looked bleak until Karen lit up the place - she did something that set the web on fire and got me loose although I don't think it did much for her sanity - she kept on talking to herself in the third person afterwards. Martikian also managed to break his arm, so Alice got the P90.
Anyway, using cunning divining methods we made our way to a weird looking lake - the water is purple and yellow - kind of like a huge mobile bruise. It was night and we had the impression of great swarms of birds way above us, except for a strange buzzing noise that undercut everything - like a great hive of bees was nearby. We spotted distant lights along the lake bank and in the far distance the outline of a great white walled city. Yeah, Toto - I don't think we're in Kansas anymore. The lights came from a camp of very tall, armoured soldiers on mutant horses (six legs, fire eyes). We set in to watch them and grabbed some zzzs with Alice on watch. Things didn't quite go to plan - I guess Alice was more tired than she thought. In the pale dawn we awoke and Alice was asleep - the warrior camp was awakening and Karen was missing. We decided to find Karen and I was able to track her to the ruins of a small fishing village. It looked like it had been deserted for some time. Marty reckoned it was flattened from aerial assault.
We found a couple of rudimentary weapons and some interesting potions. Then everything went to ratshit when the warriors suddenly arrived at the village. To cut a long story short, Marty is as good at hiding as a neon sign so he got himself caught. A wizard (well I am guessing) was summoned and seemed to speak a bit of our language, questioned Marty and as he was about to be taken away, Alice made her play. It's Mexican standoff time - 9 of them, 3 of us but we got the P90 and they don't know I'm there...it's an edge - a thin one but an edge nonetheless. The cards are dealt...showtime.
